George Michael Binns
George (Giorgio) Michael Binns was called in spirit to the Nelson BC energy vortex in 2001. He brings to his paintings a background in commercial art and a sensibility towards the wide range of possibilities of human consciousness, creating paintings as much mindscape as landscape. His work has been described as playful, exquisite, daring, unusual, exciting, spontaneous, vibrant and other-worldly.
On Valuing Art
I would suggest that if your intent is to purchase a piece of artwork that you not be concerned with the monetary value of the piece. That is nothing more than an extrapolation of the social structure that we live in - in this 21st-century. A work of art has its own intrinsic value without adding anything external to it. I would also suggest that you allow the painting to speak to you without even looking at the title of the painting. The title is just another extrapolation added by me. We seem to have a need to put a label on everything. My paintings are only titled after they are finished. In other words, my paintings are 'true'. They are done solely based on the creative process. Then I add a title to them. My wish is that you understand my art as objectively as possible. And hence not what we would make it.
Let it be. Namaste.
The only constant in the world is change and my paintings are a portrait of my ever changing creative process. On a daily basis we deal with a multitude of stimuli from multi-dimensional realities. My art is a juxtaposition of multi-dimensions; a journey into the mystique. My styles, techniques and subject matter are as broad as the day is long. I am looking forward with great enthusiasm and anticipation to stretching the boundaries of my imagination - believing that what we can conceive, we can actualize - and to giving complete freedom to my spirit, allowing it to reveal things unimagined.
